Gallaudet University is a world-renowned university for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. It was founded in 1864 and is located in Washington, D.C. Gallaudet is a leader in the deaf and hard of hearing communities, providing educational support and advocacy programs alongside a liberal arts undergraduate program, graduate programs, and internationally recognized research initiatives. It offers undergraduate degree programs, as well as brand new programs and tracks, in fields such as Communications Sciences Disorders, Rehabilitation Counseling, Speech/Hearing Sciences, Education Leadership, as well as law and policy, history and cultures, and more. Gallaudet is also home to the National Deaf Education Center which provides advocacy, support, and information sharing to families and educators of deaf and hard of hearing students nationwide.
