Lamar University is an accredited public university in Beaumont, Texas. The university, founded in 1923, was formerly known as South Park Junior College and Lamar College. Its mission is to provide higher education opportunities for the region’s citizens. The university has over 11,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in areas spanning science, engineering, business, education, humanities, and health sciences.
