The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is a four-year public research university located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. It was established in 1895 as part of the University of Massachusetts system, and is the only public university in the south coast region of the state. UMass Dartmouth offers more than 80 undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs in the areas of business, engineering, nursing, and public policy. The school also offers a combined Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Philosophy program in collaboration with nearby Boston University. In addition, they have strong research and outreach projects around key issues such as ocean conservation and coastal resiliency, sustainability, information technology, and engineering.
