Hampshire College is a liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts. Founded in 1970, Hampshire is known for its unique curriculum and academic approach which stresses independent, multi-disciplinary study. It was the first college to completely eliminate traditional letter grades and to introduce a narrative assessment system.
