Whittier College

Whittier College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in the historic Uptown Whittier area of Southern California. Founded in 1887, it is one of the oldest institutions in the state. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1 and an average class size of 16 students, Whittier allows students to receive personalized attention that much larger universities may not offer. The campus has been designated as an arboretum with more than 140 different species of trees and plants, and the college has strong programs in the social sciences, creative writing, business, and natural sciences. Whittier has a robust athletics program, with 12 men’s and women’s athletic teams competing in Division III of the NCAA.
