University of North Alabama

The University of North Alabama (UNA) is an accredited public university located in Florence, Alabama. Established in 1830 as LaGrange College, it was the state’s first four-year college and the first state university to be located in the northern part of the state. UNA offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including business, education, the arts and sciences, and healthcare. UNA’s athletic teams, the Lions, compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known for their storied football program, which won the 1993 Division II National Championship. With its diverse educational offerings and excellent athletic reputation, UNA has become one of the most respected universities in the south.
