West Virginia State University

West Virginia State University is a historically Black public university located in Institute, West Virginia. Established in 1891, it is the only public, Historically Black Institution of higher education in the state of West Virginia. The University was founded on the belief that providing quality education creates a path to a better life. WVSU offers over 50 degree programs, from accounting to nursing and public relations. Through its dedicated faculty and staff, WVSU is helping to create a brighter future for West Virginia and beyond.
