Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania (SU) is a public university located in Shippensburg, which is in Cumberland County. It is part of the State System of Higher Education and was founded in 1871 as a teacher’s college. SU offers over 150 programs of study, including degrees in the arts, sciences and professional fields. The university also has a thriving athletics program, with participation in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
