John Carroll University is a private Jesuit university located in University Heights, Ohio. Established in 1886 by the Society of Jesus, John Carroll is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The university is named after the first American Jesuit, Bishop John Carroll, who was responsible for establishing Georgetown University. John Carroll has grown from a small regional college to an internationally recognized, comprehensive institution with a student body of more than 3,500 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students. The university provides a broad range of academic programs and services, offering more than 70 majors and programs of study in the humanities, sciences, and business through its four undergraduate schools. Additionally, John Carroll offers graduate programs in business, education, and organizational sciences. There are a variety of student organizations, clubs and activities that promote community involvement and leadership. With an on-campus stadium, fitness center, and recreation program, John Carroll offers its student body a more well-rounded and engaging experience.
